I don't want to lose any friends over this. But...I have a confession to make.
Some nights when I just need to come home from work and veg out, and I've been able to connect on the phone with important people, I watch mindless thrilling television. Several times this summer, I have flipped through the stations, and have been compelled to stop at a certain Hallmark Channel. Hey wait. That's not my confession. Don't leave me yet.
Upon this Hallmark Channel is an epic television show, enjoyed throughout the land...and, just as some people do not pronounce the name of the Divine, I dare not write the name of the show here...
Just click on the link below to discover my secret.
I did live in Texas for a few years...and I think that is where I was introduced to this masterpiece of a show.
Chuck Norris. Enough said...but I will go on. Action packed. Engaging dialogue. Thrilling helicopter chases wherein Chuck (aka Walker) dangles from the plane and lands into a convertible Cadillac. Chuck (Walker) being blinded by acid and becoming blinded, then finding his healing through his medicine man Native American friend who turns into an eagle. Everything is so...real. I love it. Ha.
I don't know if there is a worse TV show on in this genre, but...it provides some laughs. Good release.
You just lost a faithful reader...
goodbye.

Josh,
Mmm. Have you seen the "Walker Texas Ranger Lever" skits on Conan O'Brian? Google 'em if you haven't....brilliant.

You just made me laugh outloud. In Africa. Thanks for bringing me back to the wonders of American entertainment at its best.

If you like the Hallmark Channel, you need to check out my roommate's secret addiction channel - Lifetime Movie Network. Get your tissues ready.

I have to confess that I have never actually seen your favorite show, but they have this bit on the radio show I listen to where they play a scene from Walker Texas Ranger and then have listeners call in to guess what happens next. The choices are always:
A. Random answer
B. Another random answer
C. Chuck Norris kicks his a**
The answer, of course, is always the same. Quite funny at 6 o'clock in the morning.

They still play that show... WOW.
I think I will have to take your blog off my favorites now:)

Josh,
Do not fret. When I am on my lunch break during CPE, sometimes I go back to my room, and watch some good ol' Walker: Texas Ranger :) Even though every ending is the same (Norris roundhouse kicking the bad guy in the face), it does not seem to lose its appeal. :)

I like the one-two combo of Walker, Texas Ranger followed by Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman. Nothing like a series of roundhouse kicks and improbable old west medical procedures to lighten up a day. Thank goodness for the Hallmark Channel.
