About 500 miles of driving today. I continue to try to both drive and rest whenever I want to, and that feels good. I realized that this is the most freedom I have felt in a long time...since Christmas, perhaps. I also realized that I graduated last week...and remember that with great gratitude, too! It has also been fun to remember that I have a job awaiting me at the other end of the summer!
A few things about the day...I'm not feeling too inspired or creative tonight.
PROS: Good cappuccino in Madison. Listened to NPR (Wait, Wait and Prairie Home Companion while driving through Minnesota. Lunch at Chipotle. Talking to Davro, Linds, Mom, and Stefanie on the phone. Poetry by Billy Collins, especially The Flock. Not many cars on the road. Only saw three police cars today. Cruise control. The Midwest continues to be beautiful and green...and it smells amazing. Nice hotel for a cheap price in Sioux Falls.
CONS: Lots of rain today. I feel chunky from eating on the road for the past few days (and at restaurants throughout graduation week). Dinner at a truck stop didn't really help. Getting a little tired of driving.
SONGS OF THE DAY:
:: Begin by The Wailin' Jenny's
:: Doin' Time by Sublime
:: Alloway Grove by Paolo Nutini
:: Stations by Denison Witmer
:: How Can I Keep from Singing by Chris Tomlin
I continue to take good time to think and pray while I drive. This road trip back home is good self-care time for this Old Man.
Bro, I'm going to be at the Sioux Falls Motel 6 in a couple of days! Too bad our paths couldn't have crossed.

Dang, Evan! If you can, stay at the Quality Inn...brand new and really nice, not too bad of a price, either. Drive well.
