Serious business.

Saturday night, I sit in my living room, hear some rumbling outside.  Curious, I go to my office window and see two men in full camoflauge fatigues climbing out from the pit below the window.

I open the window.

"Gentlemen," I say, "What are you doing?" I say.

Instead of running, they earnestly exclaim,

"Well...there were these girls...they were NINJAS...we had to run from them!"

Onnnnnnly here.  Camouflaged men running from Ninja women.

Have you seen Jesus my Lord?

He's here in plain view...

Have_you_seen_jesus_my_lord_2

Ha.  Seriously.  In my couch, thanks to the aid of my niece's jeans.  I think I'll start charging admission to my apartment.  AND.  No one will ever sit on that cushion again.  Ever.

My lament: I didn't realize I live in Antarctica.

2_2
MARCH 29th 2008. I was going to go on a hike today.  Instead, I was awakened at 6:30 this Saturday morning to the sound of the small Bobcat snow plow clearing the concrete outside of my apartment.  AWESSSSSSOME.  Four inches of snow, we have a "heavy snow warning," and Spring Break is about to come to an end.

I live in Antarctica.

If you'll excuse me, I am going to go weep salty tears into my cup of coffee.

WILBUR HUCKLE: He Has His Freedom

He Has His Freedom is the newest album from my new favorite band: Wilbur Huckle.

My favorite tracks: 1. Not So Crazy about the Crazy Cat Lady 4. Where's my Whiskas?  6. Don't Bother Me (I'm Kind of a Big Deal Around Here)  and 12. So Emo.

(Thanks to Adam, April, and Amy for helping to make me laugh.  My first time playing with Photoshop in awhile, too.  Good times.)

The Wizard of Oz. Or, What Have I Done?

I joined Oz Fitness.  A gym.

No, you are not reading the wrong blog...this IS Josh Cleveland's.

A good friend has joined, and another might...so...let's see some magic happen.

HOLD ME BACK! Hold. Me. Back!

It happened today.

I plunged into the Christmas spirit.  I don't quite know how it happened, but there is only so much I can do at this point.  Thanksgiving has not yet come and gone, so I can not decorate or listen to Christmas music without my own self-imposed guilt.

That is not to say that I can not prepare for the Christmas season.  I love this time of year.

This is my first holiday season in my own place, so I finally get to purchase and decorate for myself.  Today, I hit Target, Michaels, and ShopKo to help me in this endeavor.  (On a budget, of course.)  I even started looking on iTunes for new Christmas music.

Growing up, my mom loved to go ALL out with Christmas decorations, and I loved it, too.  The house was transformed with music boxes, angels, wall hangings, garlands, snow globes, and the nativity  My least favorite part of the season was what became my job: taking all 1,298 boxes of Christmas decorations downstairs to the storage room.  I'll be a little more simple, I think.

When I return to Spokane from being with my family for Thanksgiving next weekend, believe me...my apartment will be full of visible and audible Christmas cheer.

There's a first time for everything.

 The color of...
1. My kitchen dish towels.
2. My embarrassed/slightly frustrated face.  (See #1, followed by #3.)
3. My whites when I forgot that I had two red dish towels in the washing machine.
4. Target...which is where I will go to purchase some new whites.
5. The cups at Starbucks, to help me through this difficult time.  (Hey.  Self-care.)

Oops.

Good Morning Vietnam! Dead Poets Society! Mrs. Doubtfire! Patch Adams! Jumanji! Good Will Hunting!

In this new era...every third day or so.

"Josh.  Has anyone told ever told you that you look like...?"

"Yes."

Sigh.  My curse.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Rainbow_sandals

I.  Love.  My.  Rainbow.  Sandals.  Both old and new. Old ones have seen some rough territory over the past three years...I've worn them basically every day since I got them from the factory.  However, they were feeling (and looking) a little gross.  I'm willing to endure two weeks of pain while breaking the new ones in for years of glorious comfort to follow.  Seriously, they are the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned.  Any other Rainbow fans out there?
