2:44am - 5:12am

Couldn't sleep.  Was thinking about life/Life/liiiiiiiiife. I prayed, designed my ideal home, got up and played solitare on the computer.  When that was over, I decided that it would be a good time to run through my understanding of aesthetics.  (You know, because that's what all the real philosophers do, they stay up and think about everything and nothing into the wee hours of the morning.)  Came to the conclusion that I know enough to get me through the test.  This man will be grateful to be done with seminary at 4:30pm EST.

Oh, that's right. (I blocked it out.)

I have wondered why I have felt so little stress as I have prepared for finals.  It has not seemed too heavy.  I have had time to study, papers are getting done.  Hmm.

Then.
I.
Remembered.

The finals I took in January also included the taking of my Ordination exams.  For you longtime readers, you might recall my madness and mania.  I wrote...oh...about 120+ pages of work in the span of two weeks.  (That was a lot for this guy.)  ANYTHING would feel like a cakewalk to me when compared to that.  I only have to produce about 50 pages of work during this finals period.  (Cake.)

Three papers down.  One paper, one test to go.  Done on Tuesday.

Priorities.

Isn't it amazing how IMPORTANT it becomes to play solitare on one's computer when one should be writing a final paper that determines whether one graduates or not?  You know, just to give one's mind a little rest, right?

Siiiiiiigh. Good times. Cheap laughter.

I don't know what this says about me, but I laughed so hard when I watched this.  Enjoy.

Word of the day: Jaded.

The other day, a few of us were talking in class (more so passing notes in class, because we are in 7th grade), and one of said, "Ya, after three years of seminary, I'm feeling a little jaded." I decided I needed an official definition of jaded.

jaded: (adj) "tired, bored, or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of something."

Tired? Check.  Bored? Check.  Lacking enthusiasim? Check.  Having had too much? Check.

We love Jesus, and our experience at PTS has been a gift.  But we also decided that most of us, after a long three year grad program, are jaded in one way or another.  Here's to God's undoing of our jadedness in the days to come!

Reason #314 I am not going to miss sharing a bathroom with 19 other dudes.

This morning, in slow motion, my new toothbrush fell to the bathroom floor...yes, the bathroom shared with 19 other men, that bathroom that does not get cleaned over the weekend.  Mmm.  Best part of waking up.

Post-Seminary Plans?

I think I might be called to serve at the First Church of St. Arbucks next year.

(It's not a bad place to serve, as I understand it!)

Who wants to go to Paris with me?

Go to Google Maps.  Look for directions from New York, NY to Paris, France.  Read line #23.  Proceed to laugh.  (Oh, those witty folks at Google.)

Morning.

I am a morning person.  I am.  I wouldn't say that I am necessarily chipper, but I love most things about most mornings.  For instance, this morning, the sun was streaming in my windows, I was sufficiently nestled in my down comforter, and I got plenty of sleep.  This equation was sufficient to make it a good morning.

One thing that will ruin my morning is waking up to a bad song on my alarm radio.
Oddly enough, a song that would usually annoy me actually helped with my good attitude this morning.  "Lovely Day" the song that repeats those words 1,202 times, was on.

What song would start your day on the wrong foot?
Me: the good old camp song, RISE AND SHINE.  Sure, I want to rise, I may want to shine, and I may want to give God the glory glory, but don't you dare sing it to me as a wake up call.  Or ever.
